Antique Love…

Our love is old fashioned
Making us crave each other so when we are apart
Compelling us to run into each others’ arms too fast
As if they are the only arms in existence
Our lips collide never needing to separate
A love so authentic it fails to fade
A love so true it crawls into our souls
Binding us in a tight knot
A love so strong we would kill for each other
Ours is not till death does us apart
Because even after death it still lives on
Having a life of its own
Breathing joy into the atmosphere
Forever roaming the great globe
To be discovered once more by wandering lovers

  1. Wow, so beautiful! I used to believe in an old-fashioned love, a love like the English Literature, where everything was hard to face up and for love people fought to go beyond everyone. A time where kissing each other were something such special and strong, when a single kiss changed and entire life. I used to believe in a love that ’till the end of somebody’s life he/she was by him/her side. What about the world today? Where’s the love? Does it really exist? I mean a love between a couple, a monogamous love…

  2. Paradoxically, antique things often outlive what is said to be modern but turns out to have been no more than a passing fad. It can take a while before folk learn that. 🙂

y en a qui ont le coeur si large
there are only but two with greater hart
    qu’on y entre sans frapper
these are those who enter without knocking
y en a qui ont le cœur si large
there are only but two with greater hart
qu’on en voit que la moitié
whose moiety all others see less than half

y en a qui ont le cœur si frêle
there are many who are so frail of harts
    qu’on le briserait du doigt
those hands whose fingers are slow not nimble
y en qui ont le cœur trop frêle
there are many who are so frail of harts
pour vivre comme toi et moi3333
to live like you and me would crush their souls

z’ont pleins de fleurs dans les yeux
those many have eyes cloudy with flowers
les yeux à fleur de peur
these eyes are full of stormy clouds of fear
    de peur de manquer l’heure
fear they are lacking the hours to find
    qui conduit à Paris
that all paths find new endings in paris

y en a qui ont le cœur si tender
there are only but two with harts so tender
    qu’y reposent les mésanges
these are those who walk with their breasts exposed
y en qui ont le cœur trop tender
these are those whose hart is always tender
    moitié hommes et moitié anges
whose moiety is both profane and divine

y en a qui ont le cœur si vaste
there are only but two with vaster hart
    qu’ils sont toujours en voyage
pilgrims on a pilgrimage without end
y en a qui ont le cœur trop vaste
there are only but two with vaster hart
    pour se priver de mirages
who danse upon the desert mirages

z’ont pleins de fleurs dans les yeux
the many have eyes cloudy with flowers

y en a qui ont le cœur dehors
these are those whose one hart remains outside
    et ne peuvent que l’offrir
this empty hart is that pearl without price
    le cœur tellement dehors
this hart inside which all other harts dream
    qu’ils sont tous à s’en servir
is that one hart that carries all lovers home

    celui-là a le cœur dehors
these two are this heart that remains outside
et si frèle et si tender
as it is fragile so it is supple so
que maudit soient les arbres morts
like but unlike all these cursed dead trees
    qui ne pourraient point l’entendre
that point at stars but do not hear angels sing

a pleins de fleurs dans les yeux
these dull eyes are full of flowery clouds
les yeux à fleur de peur
those eyes are full of thistles and sharp thorns
    de peur de manquer l’heure
